Tyler Perry foots bill for senior shoppers at Winn-Dixie stores (Reports).

Elderly shoppers at two southern grocery chains reportedly had their purchases paid for by filmmaker Tyler Perry on Wednesday.

A source close to Perry told People magazine that the filmmaker bought groceries for all the senior-hour customers shopping at 44 Kroger locations in Atlanta, as well as 29 Winn Dixie supermarkets in New Orleans.

The donations helped shoppers who arrived during special hours the chains have set up exclusively for elderly shoppers amid the coronavirus outbreak, People reported.

“He wanted to do something special to provide immediate relief for some of the most vulnerable in the two cities he considers home,” the source close to Perry said.

Photos showed shocked customers at the checkout line holding their receipts with joy, some of them in tears from the act of kindness.

Perry, 50, is famous for acts of charity, and his most recent one comes just days after it was reported that he left a $21,000 tip for restaurant workers in Atlanta.

In 2018, Perry went viral for paying off nearly a half-million dollars in Walmart layaway debt for holiday customers.
