London Eye royal baby, celebrated around the world.

Celebratory plans for the arrival of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry‘s baby are underway!

The royal couple may have just moved from London to Windsor Castle’s Frogmore Cottage in the country, but their royal baby will be heralded in England’s capital. The London Eye will glow red, white and blue — the colors of the Union Jack (and of Meghan’s home country’s flag, of course!) — over the River Thames to mark the child’s birth.

Landmarks around London have a history of lighting up in honor of new members of the royal family. Last April when Kate Middleton and Prince William welcomed their third child, Prince Louis, the observation wheel was illuminated in red, white and blue, while the Tower Bridge and the Golden Jubilee Bridges glowed in blue to celebrate the baby boy’s arrival.

When Prince George was born in 2013, he was welcomed around the world – Indian sand artist Sudarshan Pattnaik created a tribute to the royal babe on a beach in Puri, the Toronto sky was illuminated by the bright blue lights of the CN Tower and New York City specialty shop Tea amp Sympathy hung a “It’s a Boy!” sign in its window.

Of course, no one knows exactly when the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s little one will arrive. During the couple’s visit to the town of Birkenhead in January, Meghan told the crowd the baby is set to arrive in late April – so any day now!

The women of St. Andrews Estates, a senior living community in Boca Raton, Florida, recently held their own baby shower in honor of the royal family’s soon-to-be newest member.
