Seattle Lake City shooting: 2 dead, 2 injured; Suspect in custody.

Two men were killed, two people were injured and a suspect was taken into custody after shootings in Seattle’s Lake City neighborhood Wednesday afternoon, police said.

Officials said there were multiple crime scenes.

After 4 p.m., the suspect approached a driver near Sand Point Way Northeast and Bartlett Avenue Northeast. Investigators said the suspect shot and injured the driver, a woman in her 50s. She was taken to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition.

Investigators said the suspect walked into the street and fired at a King County Metro bus.

Metro officials tweeted the bus driver on Route 75 was hit and was taken to Harborview Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver, 53-year-old Eric Stark, turned the bus around away from the suspect. Twelve passengers were onboard and they were not injured.

Witness John Barrett described the scene to KIRO 7.

“I was working in the garage, heard firecrackers. And then I opened the door, then I noticed the bus trying to back up extremely fast,” Barrett said.

The suspect then approached another driver in a red Prius and opened fire. The driver, a man in his 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers arrived at the scene and located the suspect but he got into the Prius and sped away.

As he fled, the suspect crashed into another vehicle. The 70-year-old driver in the other vehicle died in the crash.

After a brief standoff, officers took the suspect into custody. Chopper 7 was over the scene; watch the video below.

The suspect, a Sand Point resident in his 30s, was taken to Harborview Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. He is under police guard.

The investigation remains ongoing.

Street closures, bus reroutes
All lanes at Northeast 125th Street at Lake City Way Northeast are blocked.

Police are urging people to avoid the area and take alternate routes.

Routes 64 and 65 will miss NE 125th Street between 35th Ave NE and Lake City Way NE.

Route 75 will miss Sand Point Way between NE 95th Street and NE 125th Street, also it will miss NE 125th Street between 35th Ave NE and Lake City Way NE.
