Wedding dresses for veterans, or their families for the big day.
“This is our annual Salute to the Dress event,” said Camden County Freeholder Bill Moen. “Where we’ve been able to offer free wedding dresses, in the amount over 500 dresses, to local Camden County veteran families,” CBS 3 reported.
M&M Realty donated all the dresses with a condition.
“Our only request is that they get into the hands of local veteran families,’” said Moen, CBS 3 reported.
One of the women marrying into military families showed gratitude and appreciation for the event.
“It just means a lot to me that they acknowledge our veterans and even Gold Star families,” said Soliada Santiago Ramos, a Gold Star family member. “Because it’s just another way for me and everyone else to honor who served,” CBS 3 reported.
This event has grown to become incredibly popular among the local military families, with 200 spots filled on Feb. 12, and 100 spots on Feb. 13.
An abundance of wedding dresses in one place have brought feelings of amazement.
“I’ve never seen so many affordable wedding dresses in my life,” said Dietrich. “To see all this and to know I could get it, it’s a blessing,” CBS 3 reported.
After Years of Helping Veterans, Gary Sinise Receives Thanks in Star-Studded Tribute
Giving thanks and support to the veterans is an act deemed to be patriotic, which is why Gary Sinise was serenaded with compliments and words of appreciation for his contribution to the veteran community.
Robin Rand, CEO of the Gary Sinise Foundation, brought together numerous Hollywood celebrities and veterans to join him to show appreciation to Gary Sinise for his active service to military veterans, first responders, and families in a surprise video.
The flattering tribute was shared online on Feb. 12—the same day Gary’s memoir, “Grateful American – A Journey From Self to Service,” was released.
Gary Sinise is known for his roles in Apollo 13, Ransom, CSI: NY, and Forrest Gump.
To inspire people to find purpose through serving others, Gary detailed how he discovered his life’s true calling in his recent book.
“[The book] expanded into a broader look at how I got [into] all that service work, how that shaped who I am,” Gary said.
On the day Gary’s memoir was available to the public, the Gary Sinise Foundation also took the opportunity to publish a surprise video called “#GratefulLikeGary” online to honor his dedication.
The video features an all-star salute to the Forrest Gump’s Lieutenant Dan Taylor.
Various Hollywood celebrities, including Tom Hanks, Kristin Chenoweth, Ron Howard, Joe Mantegna, Rob Lowe, Robert De Niro, Maria Shriver, Kellie Pickler, Tim Allen, Gayle King, Mayim Bialik, and Jay Leno, along with Robin Rand, CEO of the Gary Sinise Foundation, appreciated him for his four-decade-long work.
