Bible Alabama home fire, miracle and “sign from God”.

Veteran Scot Byrd believes the bible surviving the huge blaze is a sign from above.

He revealed his life has been hit by a number of blows, including his daughter being diagnosed with leukaemia.

And in further bad luck, his Alabama home of 20 years went up in smoke in a Christmas tree blaze.

But Scot believes his luck has now turned after one of his prized possession was left intact.

He said: “The fireman actually came out of the home with tears in his eyes.

“He said ‘you’re not going to believe this, you’ve gotta come see it for yourself’.

“This Bible did not have one scorch mark on it.”

Scot revealed he got the good book from his grandad.

He added: “We don’t give up. We’ve had an outpouring from the community.

“If I went to name everyone by name I would be here for two hours.”

Community organisations have also rallied round the veteran.

A fundraising page to help him get back on his feet has raised more than $2,000 on Facebook.

And scholars believe they have pinpointed the location where Moses parted the Red Sea.
