TUSCUMBIA, Ala. (CBS Native) — A person fell by the ceiling of a Waffle Home restaurant in Sunday in what police consider was a botched housebreaking.
Cellphone video reveals a big bulge within the restaurant ceiling because the suspect, wearing simply his shirt and underwear, all of a sudden comes crashing down into the eating room whereas clients had been inside.
Patrons tried to detain the suspect, however the man shoved clients out of the way in which as he exited the restaurant to an obvious getaway automobile pushed by an confederate. They later left the car and fled on foot.
The Tuscumbia Police Division recognized the person within the video as Wesley Glenn Bost, 27, of Birmingham, Alabama. Police Chief Tony Logan says investigators consider Bost was trying to enter the restaurant’s workplace by the ceiling when he fell.
“We predict his plan was to rob the place,” Logan informed al.com. “We don’t suppose it was in his sport plan to fall by the ceiling.”
Logan says surveillance video reveals Bost went into the toilet, locked himself in and tied his blue denims to the door. He then climbed into the ceiling, forsaking his driver’s license and different types of ID in his pants.
Bost is being sought on felony mischief and housebreaking costs. The second man is but to be recognized.
