RENO, Nev. — The U.S. Division of Agriculture has awarded the College of Nevada, Reno a $5 million grant to steer a research on altering snowpack.
UNR scientists will conduct the five-year research with researchers on the Desert Analysis Institute, Northern Arizona College and Arizona State College.
The research is meant to look at how modifications in mountain snowpack are affecting the agriculture business.
UNR professor Kim Rollins says the impacts of shrinking snowpack have a profound impression on holders of water rights. She says elevated danger impacts non-public selections about promoting these rights and will probably trigger everlasting losses within the capability to provide meals within the arid West.
